Mothers of earlier times always carried safety pins. A gentle grip for a saree pallu or a quick fix for many a troubles. I've always felt there was a visionary problem solving instinct in that simple gesture, being prepared for what the future might bring.
This work is about safe keeping. Within the forest sits the forest owlet. Many people have mistaken it to be a bad omen, yet ironically it also speaks of wisdom. I often think of strong women in the same way. Wise like an owl, quietly holding things together. And yet, this breed of women sometimes feels endangered, slowly slipping from our hands.
