In this work, the Annamalai gliding frog appears organically within the scene. This remarkable frog lives in the rainforests of the Western Ghats. With its wide webbed feet it can glide from tree to tree, moving through the forest canopy with a soft and effortless motion. Its bright green body blends with the leaves, and during the monsoon it lays delicate foam nests on branches above water, trusting the forest to carry life forward.
Here the frog sits gently on the woman’s shoulder. Beside her grows a hibiscus plant, while jasmine flowers rest in her hair. These small details bring together the quiet beauty of the landscape and the everyday grace of the woman.
In this artwork, the frog and the woman share a calm moment of coexistence. One carries the lightness of the forest canopy, the other the stillness of the earth. Together they reflect a sense of balance, care and belonging within the natural world.
