I have always loved staring at the sky, watching the shapes of clouds and the way colours slowly blend when the sun says goodbye. Every evening feels like a renewed surprise. The sky opens into grand colours and soft rays, for a moment the world feels full of wonder. I often think of the many stories of women who have walked through fire to prove their worth and their place in society. Like the night queen flower that blooms in the dead of the dark, I have seen women from small towns take the courage to go to school, say no to injustice and step forward with hope. In the fields, the lesser florican jumps and dances with a kind of wild joy. Even as the grasslands slowly disappear, it continues to dance. To me it feels like a small but powerful reminder of resilience, of the will to live, and of the optimism that keeps both nature and people moving forward.
